Venice Beach Modern
This was the first project Tatum worked on after her move to LA from Copenhagen in 2012. It is a gorgeous 8000 sq ft home that the owners had just built with the architect Renzo Zechetto on a double lot in Venice beach. Inspired by the indoor/outdoor California lifestyle Tatum wanted to create a space that felt natural, comfortable and would not only hold up to the families love of entertaining and two small children, but would age and patina beautifully. Each area was thoughtfully designed in asking first; ‘how will this space be used and what is the feeling you want to achieve in that use’. From super deep sofa’s for TV viewing to fully upholstered dining chairs that invite you to linger each element was carefully selected for both form and function. All the materials were selected on their natural ‘live’ qualities as these continue to patina and age gracefully overtime. - oiled walnut, natural leathers, wools and linens as well as raw brass offers an organic sensibility that is very grounding when you are in the space. Hosted by Tatum Kendrick, this project was featured on ABC’s Open House television show which Aired in the spring of 2018.
